Hi! My name is Dali. My mom brought me home late on January 20, 2001, when I was only 40 days old. I am a Camelot macaw, which is a hybrid of a Scarlet macaw and a Catalina (which is a hybrid of a Blue & Gold and a Scarlet). Through all my pictures, you can see me growing up. When I was a baby, I had a very serious illness and was in and out of the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital three times. Thankfully, my mom never gave up, and neither did my vet, Dr. Tracey Ritzman. Thanks to her, I am now a very healthy and very happy macaw! |

The following first two pictures were taken in Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston. Dali became very ill on the night of Thursday, Jan. 25, with very labored breathing. He was rushed to the hospital, where the doctor didn't know if he'd make it through the night! But, strong bird that he is, he is well on the road to recovery. Thanks to all my friends, online and offline, for their thoughts and prayers for Dali during this stressful time. These pictures were taken through his incubator, so they're not as sharp and clear as normal. The yellow thing around his neck is a device to support his crop, not a sudden burst of bright yellow feathers <g>. |

| Unfortunately, Dali's breathing got bad again and he had to return to the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston on Saturday, February 3, 2001. He returned home on Wednesday, February 7, with feathers popping out all over!! | ||

| Once again, Dali was rushed to Angell Memorial Hospital on Sunday, February 11. This breathing attack was the worst yet. I had to actually give him mouth-to-beak resuscitation while driving to the hospital! It was touch and go for Dali for a while in the hospital. Since he didn't seem to be able to breathe well without oxygen after only a few days, the doctors were talking about the poor "quality of life" he would live if his condition didn't improve. He went on like this for almost a month. And then, all of a sudden, he seemed to snap out of it. His breathing greatly improved, and I was finally able to bring him home on Friday, March 9, 2001. Everyone is calling him the "Miracle Bird"! Since he's been home, Dali has been doing great! You'd never even know he had been sick. | ||
